Woodblock Prints

My inspiration springs from a practical interest in rural working life and natural history.

I enjoy working in woodcut because of its strong graphic content and inherent cleanliness of line. I aim to capture those fleeting moments of magic that are full of symbolism and, though everyday, go largely unnoticed.

I live and work in East Sussex and exhibit my pictures locally. I am currently working on a couple of other projects; producing a range of handmade tiles using my prints, and also facilitating and teaching workshops through Blackbird Arts.

At the moment i am working on...

...setting up a pot making session at Wilderness Wood.

It's 10 years since Emily and Dan took over Wilderness Wood in Hadlow Down, East Sussex. This May Day Bank Holiday there are lots of opportunities to have a go at making stuff in the woods.

On Sunday I aim to help people make as many simple terracotta pots as possible! These will be fired and planted up with spring bulbs in the entertainment area.

There's lots of other things going on so do check it out on their website www.wildernesswood.org
